Documentation

MediFlow AI models the full patient journey as 23 connected steps. Here's how they group together, in the order a patient actually moves through them.

1. Patient Management

Every patient journey starts with an accurate record and a baseline read on their condition.

  1. 1Patient Intake — capture the reason for visit and initial details
  2. 2Register Patient — create the patient record (name, DOB, sex, contact, known allergies)
  3. 3Record Vitals — blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, SpO2, respiratory rate
  4. 4Record Symptoms — structured symptom list, severity, pain score, duration, notes
  5. 5Registration Check — verify the patient record exists before proceeding
  6. 6Get Patient Allergies — pull known allergies forward into the clinical workflow

2. Clinical Assessment

Vitals and symptoms feed an AI-assisted assessment that a clinician then reviews and finalizes.

  1. 1AI Clinical Assessment — generates differential diagnoses, urgency level, red flags, and a confidence score
  2. 2Save Diagnosis Draft — the doctor records notes, sets status, and sets a review date
  3. 3Lab Recommendations — investigations suggested by the assessment, for the doctor to order

3. Prescription & Safety

No prescription reaches a patient without passing an interaction check, a doctor's approval, and a pharmacist's validation.

  1. 1Drug Interaction Check — screens the draft prescription against known allergies and interactions
  2. 2Safety Gate — approval is blocked until the latest interaction check on that prescription is safe
  3. 3Create Prescription Draft — medications, dosage, frequency, duration, and instructions
  4. 4Doctor Review & Approval — the prescribing doctor approves or rejects the draft
  5. 5Pharmacist Validation — an independent pharmacist check before the prescription is finalized

4. Patient Engagement

Once approved, the platform turns a prescription into something a patient can actually follow.

  1. 1Generate Patient Counselling — AI-generated, plain-language medication and lifestyle guidance
  2. 2Save Patient Counselling — counselling content is stored against the prescription for later reference
  3. 3Generate Prescription PDF — a downloadable, professional prescription document
  4. 4Schedule Follow-ups — book a follow-up appointment relative to today
  5. 5Setup Medication Reminders — scheduled reminders tied to the prescription

5. Compliance

Every notification and every action in the system is recorded for accountability.

  1. 1Notify Doctor — in-app notification for the prescribing doctor
  2. 2Notify Pharmacist — in-app notification for the validating pharmacist
  3. 3Notify Patient — recorded in the audit trail (patients don't yet have a linked user account for in-app delivery)
  4. 4Log Audit Trail — a complete, admin-visible log of who did what, when, with before/after state
