The Prescription Workflow

A prescription draft is created with medication name, dosage, frequency, duration, and instructions — structured and ready for clinical review, not auto-sent to the patient.
Doctor Review & Approval
The prescribing doctor can edit the draft, then approve or reject it. Approval requires a safe drug-interaction check to have already been run — see Medication Safety.
Pharmacist Validation
A doctor-approved prescription moves to a pharmacist for independent validation before it can be finalized — a second clinical review, not a rubber stamp.
PDF Generation
Once validated, a professional prescription PDF is generated for the patient, with the full medication list and instructions.
